The National Business Hero Awards are created to honour and celebrate individuals and businesses for outstanding achievement and contribution. A public platform for local businesses and individuals to be recognised for good works through diversity, inclusion and equality. To thank and pay tribute to distinguished business leaders, to raise up and applaud outstanding employees and to spotlight young professionals. To celebrate and raise the profile of  successful regional businesses.

The Awards Process

  • You (the public) can nominate yourself, colleagues, clients, peers and businesses in the relevant categories.
  • The results of nominations are then collated a shortlist is produced based on the number of nominations a person or business has received.
  • The voting form is then open to the public. We encourage all nominees to promote their nomination as much as possible to secure votes.
  • The winners are identified based on which nominee receives the most votes, with all nominees and votes reviewed by the appointed committee for overall final shortlist.

Award Categories

  • Dynamic leaders transform their business and stand out as role models to their people through their leadership, commitment, and vision. Whatever your title, if you are a leader within your business and driving revenue growth or transformation, making a cultural difference, championing career and development opportunities, this is the category for you. The winner will be recognised for making an outstanding contribution in their business, their sector or to the region.

  • This award is open to all sectors and identifies outstanding young professionals from across the region.  Young professionals who consistently go above and beyond to ensure projects and deliver effectively.  Good communicators who enjoy being part of a team.  Individuals who appear destined to lead, showing exceptional talent and leadership skills. Individuals who show great promise for making cultural change and championing inclusion, diversity and equality.

Perhaps demonstrated through support for groups and individuals, driving culture change, investment in skills and training, innovations around flexible working, workplace wellbeing initiatives. Which legal firm has impressed you the most in the past 12 months, through making a positive difference in the wider community, championing client care and engagement?

  • Recognising an individual or business in the region that has demonstrated a commitment to ‘giving something back’ to the region/local community, through CSR initiatives or charitable activities. Going above and beyond their role or responsibilities.  Outstanding achievement and a role model in the business community.

  • This award recognises financial organisations that excel for its people. Perhaps demonstrated through support for groups and individuals, driving culture change, investment in skills and training, innovations around flexible working, workplace wellbeing initiatives.
