Public Benefit, Access and Collaboration

Mission

Fashion Impact Foundation (FIF) believes in the power of collective action to bring about lasting, positive change in our communities and beyond. Our mission is to uplift lives in transformational ways, reaching as many people as possible through practical initiatives and strategic partnerships with forward-thinking businesses. We put our purpose into action by supporting projects that touch lives where it matters most, whether providing essential resources to underserved communities or funding educational opportunities that open doors for tomorrow’s leaders.

At FIF, we recognize the unique influence of the fashion industry to inspire and mobilize people from all walks of life. By harnessing this energy, we strive to create initiatives that address immediate needs and foster sustainable change. For example, our recent collaborations have enabled children and parents to access vital support services, demonstrating the ripple effect of our collective efforts. Our vision is simple yet powerful: to bring hope, help and happiness to individuals who need it most.

Donations to the Fashion Impact Foundation go directly into charities that make a real, measurable impact. Every contribution helps us deliver essential resources, educational opportunities and support for those facing hardship, ensuring that our work creates tangible benefits for the communities we serve.

Who We Are

Fashion Impact Foundation (FIF) is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered in England & Wales. Our objects focus on advancing charitable purposes for public benefit, especially safeguarding and promoting the health and welfare of children and parents, relieving hardship and promoting better standards of childcare and education, as well as supporting general charitable causes. These priorities guide every grant and project we deliver.

As a CIO, FIF upholds the highest standards of governance and accountability, ensuring that every grant and project is delivered with integrity and transparency. We are proud to document and report our outcomes, so supporters can see the real difference their contributions make.

How the Collaboration with FB Fashion Ball Works

FB Fashion Ball is a long-running, glamorous business networking fashion event. FIF is the nominated official charity partner, leading the public-benefit strand, including community participation, access and inclusion. FIF also receives donations and fundraising at the event, ensuring that all our charitable purposes are met.

The collaboration between FIF and FB Fashion Ball was born out of a shared vision for inclusive, community-driven change. Over the years, the Ball has become a highlight in the business networking calendar, with FIF’s involvement bringing a renewed focus on public benefit, supporting ethnic minority communities and social responsibility. Volunteers often recount the excitement of walking the catwalk, knowing their efforts directly support meaningful causes.

What the Partnership Delivers for the Public

1) Fundraising for Principal Causes
The Ball’s format mobilises volunteers, often employee “catwalk walkers” to raise money and awareness in support of a wide range of charitable causes nominated by the volunteers. FIF receives donations and makes grants aligned to our constitution, prioritising the welfare of children and parents, education, childcare and relieving need. This leverages the Ball’s historic culture of fundraising for multiple charities while ensuring that funds channelled through FIF are applied strictly to our CIO objects.

2) Access, Inclusion and Community Engagement
Around the event, we coordinate participation programmes such as “The Runway to Work project,” which removes barriers and widens access. Initiatives include partner-code bursaries and discounts, multilingual front-of-house support, captioning/BSL and accessible online highlights with alt-text so those who cannot attend can still experience the work. Participation of volunteers and inclusion of diverse cultures is encouraged. These activities are designed, delivered and evaluated by the CIO as public-benefit outcomes.

One of our flagship initiatives, “Runway to Work,” has helped individuals overcome barriers to employment by offering tailored support and resources. Participants have praised the programme for its inclusive approach, with multilingual support and accessible event highlights ensuring everyone can take part. We regularly evaluate our programmes to measure outcomes such as increased community engagement, improved skills and enhanced wellbeing.

FB Fashion Ball’s Charitable History

Before this formal collaboration with FIF, the Ball built a strong track record of fundraising for many charities, with volunteers walking the catwalk to raise money and awareness. FIF’s role builds on that legacy by keeping charitable funding aligned to our CIO purposes and documenting and reporting public-benefit outcomes, participation, access, skills and community reach in a transparent way.
